A Trump Father's Day Assessment

It really frightens me that people in this country have accepted the lying and bullying of a “man” like Donald Trump. Today is Father’s Day and his Sunday morning spew on Twitter is full of lies about his approval rating versus that of President Obama at this point in his presidency. He also, once again, takes credit for job growth that happened prior to his election, and more importantly, in spite of the fact that he now resides in the White House.

His son Eric took the opportunity to post a photo of Father’s Day gifts he received, while also marketing his father’s propaganda products…Make America Great Again, indeed. It has become increasingly apparent that the entire Trump family has sold their souls to the devil for the almighty buck. Daughter Ivanka has been exposed for using sweat shops to produce her “I’m a filthy rich, completely out of touch with the real world, spoiled brat” clothing/shoe/jewelry/whatever other nonsense product lines. Eric has been nailed as a children’s charity donation thief, along with his father. And Donnie Jr. continues to make a fool of himself whenever he opens his mouth (or types). The pasty-complexioned, grease-ball embodies all the worst characteristics of disreputable, slimy, used car salesman. Poor Melania only married into the Scam Clan, but it’s not hard to see that her true resume consists of gold-digging, sex-flaunting, and soul-selling for the silver-spoon lifestyle. She’s the perfect example of the Euro-trash tramp making good her American dream by marrying her own dough-boy billionaire. The remaining offspring are of little consequence now, but are sure to make their father proud as they grow into vapid, cash-hoarding/whoring carbon copies.

The Feckless Four
The Trumps might believe they are the Untouchables – they certainly behave as if they are – but based on current trends and what Trump calls “fake news” (a.k.a. factual news reporting) they will soon be the Unmentionables. Perhaps Donald Trump hasn’t colluded with Russia, maybe he isn’t guilty of obstruction of justice…the problem is that his own flappy mouth is quickly backing him into a corner of his own making. I have no doubt that he will get his just desserts (which will probably not include the most beautiful piece of chocolate cake, ever), that the “witch hunt” will result in the end of his presidency and hopefully, his ability to speak publicly. The most frustrating part of the whole thing for me is that when he is inevitably removed from power, Trump won’t have the self-awareness to recognize that the destruction of his world is self-inflicted because he never matured past 4th grade.  I also have no doubt that he will blame everyone on earth apart from himself and continue to behave as if he is some kind of magnificent human being.

The really unfortunate part of the story is that he has raised his children as if they, too, are extraordinary, simply for existing…but unless they suffer from his level of delusion, they will always know – somewhere in their psyche – that they not good, decent people, that they are due no special consideration, and that they are the spawn of a demagogue of the worst sort. In the words and stunted expression of Donald Trumplethinskin: Pathetic! Sad!

Kim Kardashian is...the Virgin Mary?!?!?

Well, here we go again…Kim Kardashian, the celebrity without a cause or a clue, is back in the news – this time for creating a religious candle with her image posing as the Virgin Mary slapped on the side.

As you might expect, Twitter is in an uproar. One has to wonder how a woman, whose real claim to fame is her ridiculously loose morals and matching vagina, makes the decision to portray herself as a saint famous for being a VIRGIN. To top it all off, she’s been seen wearing a sheer (as in, you can see right through it) “dress” with a jewel-studded image of the holy mother placed on top of her ginormous, fake knockers. The garment also accentuates her huge ass, hips and thighs – another thing I just don’t get. C’mon guys, seriously, what’s the fascination with her disproportionately gigantic bottom half?? Perhaps it’s meant to match her fat, empty head.

I’ve long wondered why Kim and her ilk were even famous, and I may never know, but I now understand that their celebrity is part of the phenomenon that has allowed our country and society to fall victim to the most hateful, inane and ignorant members of our community…led by their king, Donald "Trumplethinskin" Trump.

Reality television has overtaken our viewing habits, our outlook on real life, the functionally intelligent parts of our brains and now our government, the oval office, and our proud democratic tradition. Unless and until we  find a way out of this complicated and disgusting web we have woven as a country, we will continue to view one bad episode after another. As for Ms. Kardashian (or Mrs. West), I would strongly urge her to stop buying “skinny” mirrors, stop acting out for public adoration and focus more on whatever real value she may have as a human being…and in so doing, perhaps she’ll also stop shaming and embarrassing our country.

Scott Baio: What an Asshole!

I don't know if Scott Baio ever earned any awards for his acting roles, but he should definitely receive an Oscar for being able to portray such nice guy characters when in real life, he's an idiotic asshole.

His latest bullshit really takes the cake - even after hearing him go on and on about Barack Obama being a Muslim terrorism lover. His so-called friend and acting partner, Erin Moran died recently due to throat cancer, but Baio comes out publicly spouting nonsense about a heroine overdose!! WTF is wrong with this dickhead?

Of course, after he learned that it was cancer that ended her life, he was publicly "sorry"...if he only knew how sorry he was! http://www.mercurynews.com/2017/04/25/scott-baio-regrets-blaming-erin-morans-death-on-drugs-alcohol-before-learning-she-had-cancer/

I don't what happened in Scott's life that turned him into an ignorant, insufferable ass, but my condolences to his family, particularly his mother - who must surely be ashamed.

Teen Mom OG: An Opinion

As the premiere of the 7th season of Teen Mom OG quickly approaches, it seems there has been no hiatus to rumors and drama for the reality star mommas. It’s no great surprise that the primary drama surrounds Farrah and her “boyfriend” Simon and their egregious and immature attacks of the other show participants, but what is surprising is that MTV continues to provide Farrah a platform.

Through the last seven plus years, the lives of these four young women have unfolded on the reality series for the world to judge…or troll, as is often the case. However, when reasonable people consider what these ladies have been through and how far they’ve come, the personal growth and maturity – especially under the stinging heat of the spotlight – is no less than admirable and sometimes awe-inspiring. Amber, Catelynn and Maci have dealt with and overcome some seemingly insurmountable problems, including becoming adults when they were quite too young, anger management, depression and other mental illnesses, impulsivity, domestic violence, and childish impetuousness.

I can’t help but feel grateful that all my youthful indiscretions and mistakes weren’t publicized for the world to see. It’s really not so hard to figure out why things went so very wrong for Farrah (and to realize how truly amazing the others really are!). Everyone loves to hate so-called “evil” characters on TV, but this is “reality” television and Farrah is not a fictional character. Her journey has been quite different than that of the others and many would say that her behavior is very deserving of the frustration and ire that she creates in viewers. Let’s face it, the girl is a downright nasty, wretched human being and she spreads her misery around liberally…and we hate her for it, but should we? In fact, shouldn’t we feel pity for Farrah…just as we’ll inevitably feel pity for the woman Sophia turns out to be because of how she’s being raised?

As disgusting, abusive and horrible as Farrah has been, I do feel pity for her and the sad life she clearly leads. While the other ladies are shown surrounded by friends and loving family, making happy memories, working to better themselves in meaningful ways and enjoying all that life has to offer, Farrah’s scenes are filled with outrageous fits, neighbors in place of any real friends, impersonal business dealings, and shameless attention seeking. In spite of rare moments of a slight connection with her daughter, the bond is seriously lacking and inconsistent, as evidenced by calling her daughter “stupid” and “selfish”. Love and affection is replaced by gifts and money, the teaching of hollow behaviors and values, and ridiculous and meaningless baby-talk. In one episode, Sophia applauds her mother for arguing with and insulting the neighbor over her own barking dogs. The most consistent thing that Farrah is modeling for Sophia is abusive conflict and anger. I just can’t imagine living with so much bitterness and anger, not to mention denial and delusion. At the heart of it all, whether Farrah admits it (or even recognizes it) or not, her life and her daughter’s life is disconnected from meaningful human connection and profoundly unhappy. It’s not funny, it’s not entertaining…it’s sad, it’s heartbreaking – for both of them.

That being said, I do not understand why MTV continues to follow her story. I suspect that they hoped they would get to film a miraculous transformation. After all, Amber’s story became pretty rocky in its own right and we’ve been able to witness her incredible growth. However, Farrah has not improved, at least not after editing, and at some point, they have to consider her impact as a role model to teens and young women. When do they draw the line and say “this is not going to change for the better”? I think now…and if you look at public response, many agree with me. Farrah’s story may someday have some true value, but that someday hasn’t yet arrived. Farrah deserves pity and wishes for a better future – if not for her, then for her daughter. But that doesn’t mean that her poor behavior should continue to be displayed on a show that means something to so many – including the young women who are trying to send a positive message. It’s time, MTV, to move on from Farrah’s story and to wish her luck…and hopefully to see her spend some time in an accredited treatment facility.
